Health Care Quality Improvement Technical Committee

Mission: Focus on the leading edge of performance improvement methodologies related to health and healthcare systems.

Objectives:

1. Target higher levels of leadership, such as the CEO, CFO, CIO, CSO and others, with techniques to assist organizations to fit quality and performance methodologies into their overall strategy.
2. Engage in research and application related to both the QMBoK and HBoK as it applies to health and healthcare content.
3. Using a holistic approach to system level value realization, explore the boundaries of performance and process methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, TQM and others to support the growing demands of health and healthcare at the global level.
4. Reinforce the existing relationship between QMD and HCD for joint member interest and industry segment content.
5. Join the existing inter-Divisional partnership of HCD, Stats, Lean, and Six Sigma divisions/forum to mine opportunities for performance and organizational excellence in health communities.
6. Document and publish, using a range of media and social channels, the results of technical committee research and application, including:

  • At least one article for the Quality Management Division Forum to announce the availability of our    Healthcare Quality Management System Model and associated user’s guide
  • One set of eblast healthcare short papers between August 2015 and June 2016
  • a proposal to 2016 WCQI on the development of the Healthcare Quality Management System model

7. Explore the overlap in customer segments and content between the Quality Management and Healthcare Divisions through joint study, research, writing, presentations and other deliverables.
8. Develop and deliver a customized quality management system model and narrative that supports the improvement and sustainability of performance excellence in traditional healthcare institutions by 4Q15
